Three-hundred pages of short stories as varied as life itself is what Mr. Floyd has given his readers in his anthology RAINBOW’S END. Remember the pot of gold reputed to be found at the end of the Rainbow? Each story is a nugget of gold in that pot.
·                                 Teamwork – The nugget is ‘outsmarting a jewelry thief’.
·                                 The Early Death of Pinto Bishop – The nugget? A new life (western)
·                                 The Proposal - foul play fouled (murder)
·                                 The Jumper - a new twist on an old suicide (jumper)
·                                 Lindy’s Luck - it pays to learn by your mistakes (theft)
·                                 Survival – what we don’t know is NOT supposed to hurt us
·                                 King of the City – our city law enforcers should get a few pointers from this one
·                                 Careers – What career breeds the greatest liars?
·                                 The Messenger – Yep, the choice is ours.
·                                 Lucy’s Gold – love or money?
·                                 Many other stories just as well written—filled with humor, suspense, surprise—you won’t feel cheated at the end of the book.
This book is full of short stories displaying John M Floyd's ability to take an ordinary idea and turn it into a simple story that packs a wallop at the end. His stories all end in a way the reader least expects them to. He has a flair for realistic dialog, smooth plots, good settings and satisfying endings. Great reading.
My interest is thoroughly caught and held each time I approach one of Mr. Floyd’s stories.

John Floyd's work has appeared in a wide range of publications, including The Strand, Grit, Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine, Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine, Woman's World, and Amazon Shorts.  Rainbow's End, a collection of his stories, was released in hardcover in October 2006.
